Fighting Against with COVID-19, WECON HMI and PLC for Ventilator Solution

Coronavirusv disease 201(Covid-19) global pandemic, is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. As the number of cases continues to grow, most of countries face a critical shortage of ventilator.


Aventilator, a term sometimes called respirator is a mechanical life saving machines that provides ventilation by delivering room air or oxygen-enrichedgas into and out of the lungs to intermittently or continuously assist, for somebody who is physically unable to breathin sufficiently. It became one of most important tool needed for hospitals for keep patients alive in most critical condition.


Processes

In its simplest form, a ventilator consist of air compressor, air and oxygen supplies,a set of tubes and valves , a set of sensors for pressure, volume and flow. The system using WECON HMI and PLC consists of two air supplies for oxygen and fresh air, and can come from a tank or compressor pushing by pump. Both sources are regulated by two input valves to control mixture composition, which comes from an air tank where the mixture is kept at certain pressure limits. If the mixture composition is correct and is in the right pressure range, the system sends this air to the patient to control breathing. For this system has an input and output valves connected to lungs simulator to control pressure inlungs and the respiratory frequency to maintain patient safety.
